After the rousing success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy which released a little over a month ago, it seems that Activision are looking into green-lighting more remasters of old IPs. The news comes from This Gen Gaming who spotted the comment during Activision Blizzard’s Q2 2017 Q&A.
Activision explained that the decision to remaster the first three Crash games was a direct result of listening to their community. They also revealed that they are considering other old IP’s that could be remastered. They went on to add “you can be confident there will be more activity like this in the future with more IP’s”
The obvious choice for a new remaster or collection of games would be the Spyro series. Spyro was a real staple on the PlayStation One and sat with Crash as one of PlayStation’s most notable mascots. Here’s hoping this is the case as it’s been way too long since Spyro graced our gaming consoles.
