The Doom Patrol have their villain, as Alan Tudyk has been cast as Mr. Nobody/Eric Morden in the upcoming DC Universe series.
After exposure to experiments by ex-Nazis in post-war Paraguay, Eric Morden emerges from as a living shadow who is able to drain the sanity from others as “Mr. Nobody.”
Jeremy Carver is adapting Doom Patrol for the screen. The story follows Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Negative Man, and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), led by modern mad-scientist Niles Caulder. Each of the Doom Patrol’s members suffer horrible accidents that leave them with their superhuman abilities – as well as disfiguring scars. Traumatised and demoralised, Caulder gives them purpose, investigating strange and unusual phenomena and protecting the Earth from what they discover.
Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will see these reluctant heroes called to action by Cyborg (Jovian Wade), who comes to them with a mission that’s impossible to refuse. However, it comes with a warning: should they do this, their lives will never be the same.
Doom Patrol received a 13-episode straight-to-series order in May, and is set to begin production this year for a 2019 premiere on DC Universe.
