Ben Edlund, creator of the Amazon series, The Tick has announced via Twitter that the show will not return for a third season.

Edlund wrote, “I’m sorry to say Amazon has chosen not to proceed with [‘The Tick’]. I’m not sorry to say I love this show, its cast, its story, and its message. Destiny demands that my compatriots and I now seek a new home for this series.”

The series followed on the powerful, though often clueless superhero Tick, played by Peter Serefinowicz. Griffin Newman played Arthur, the Tick’s usually unwilling sidekick, in a world where superheroes are an everyday occurrence, but supervillains are thought to be all but myth until The Terror (Jackie Earle Haley) who had been presumed dead, showed up.

The Tick was co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, and also starred Valorie Curry, Brendan Hines, Yara Martinez, Scott Speiser, Michael Cerveris, John Pirkis and Alan Tudyk.
