Amazon has confirmed that Lore is to get a second series. The horror anthology show, based on Aaron Mahnke’s successful podcast of the same name, hit Amazon Video in October of last year, with each of the episodes following a different, creepy tale.

Unfortunately, the series didn’t become as much of a hit as the podcast, being met with mixed critical reception. Even so, there’s something very compelling about Lore, and as such it gained a strong following, maintaining an impressive number of viewers for the six-episode run.

And those fans will likely be very pleased to hear that Lore will indeed be receiving a second season. Deadline has reported that the horror anthology will return, with some major changes behind the scenes, as The Exorcist showrunner Sean Crouch is set to take over from Glen Morgan.

The show will be going for bigger scares this time around, based on Crouch’s involvement, as a statement from producers Ben Silverman and Howard Owens of Propagate Content says that Season 2 of Lore is “set to be scarier than ever.” They have also stated that this season will “explore global, real-life horror stories that make this series unlike anything else of television.”

As yet, Lore Season 2 has no set release date.
