Hulu is working hard to build its adult animation slate, and they have now given a two-season 16-episode order to a new show from Rick and Morty co-creator/executive producer Justin Roiland, and executive producer Mike McMahan.
Solar Opposites, co-created and executive producer by Roiland and McMahan is slated for a 2020 premiere, and centres around aliens in middle America.
Roiland also leads the series’ voice cast, alongside Sean Giambrone and Mary Mack. A family of aliens from a better world who must take refuge in middle America, but disagree on whether this is a good or bad thing. Roiland voices “Terry” and “Korvo”, while Giambrone lends his voice to “Yumyulack” and Mack voices “Jesse.”
The Rick and Morty team will be juggling a lot of work over the coming years, as Solar Opposites is expected to begin a writers room in October, while Rick and Morty recently received a massive series order of 70 episodes.
