A new image from Marvel shows Ant-Man and the Wasp’s titular characters suited up in their superhero costumes and ready for action.
With so much of Marvel’s focus for this year being on Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, you’d be forgiven for forgetting about Ant-Man’s second solo outing on the big screen also being released this year. The first look we had at Ant-Man and the Wasp was during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, where a poster for the film was released, and following this, an image of Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne suited up as The Wasp was also released, though it lacked the helmet.
A change of pace from Marvel’s previous superhero team-ups, such as last year’s Thor: Ragnarok, Ant-Man and the Wasp is being described as a romantic comedy/superhero movie mix, giving us a whole new take on the duo.
Now, we have our first official look at the two heroes in their full suits:
Ant-Man’s costume is more streamlined than his original suit, but it has also changed since Captain America: Civil War. The Wasp, however, has gone through a number of upgrades since the mid-credits scene in Ant-Man, making it clear that Hope will have a more modern suit, far sleeker than her partner’s.
And while the suit appears to be missing Wasp’s iconic wings, much like Ant-Man’s, we know from the SDCC poster that Scott will once again get to show off his Giant Man power in the sequel, and the Wasp will be flying in combat, as her mother did.
With the film’s release coming in July, it’s possible that the first teaser will come alongside Black Panther next month.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set for release on July 6th.
