Every King needs a Queen, and it seems that The Lion King has landed Queen Bee.
Months after rumours of her casting began, Beyoncé has officially been signed to voice Nala in Disney’s live-action Lion King remake.
The Jon Favreau movie also includes Donald Glover as the cub King, Simba, Nala’s childhood friend and love interest, and James Earl Jones will reprise his role as Mufasa. The rest of the cast sees Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, John Oliver as Zazu, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, and Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa.
Director Favreau said in statement: “It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life.”
The Lion King is due to hit screens in Summer 2019.
