Andy Muschietti broke records with his terrifying adaptation of Stephen King’s clown horror hit, IT, and now to wet the appetite of eager fans, Muschietti has teased the start of production on IT: Chapter Two.

Though the sequel will pick up some 27 years after the first film, with a new cast playing the adult versions of the Losers Club, Muschietti has already confirmed that their young counterparts will be returning for Chapter Two, potentially in the form of flashbacks.

Today, the director took to Instagram to post a picture of him alongside stars Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, and Wyatt Oleff, who are all confirmed to reprise their roles of Beverly, Richie, and Stanley, respectively. Accompanying the snap, Muschietti included the caption, “Wake up, losers. Derry is calling.”

The sequel is set to begin filming this summer, ready for a September 2019 release, meaning that production isn’t quite underway just yet, but Muschietti is no doubt gearing up to start, given the hype surrounding Chapter Two.

This post may confirm that the director is ready to begin working with the kids on their roles, given that the adult cast isn’t set in stone yet, with only Jessica Chastain formally in talks for the role of Beverly. Whatever it means, fans should be excited that Pennywise is getting ready to return from the sewers in IT: Chapter Two.
