Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina finally has a premiere date.
The show will be released on the streaming platform on almost the exact same spot Stranger Things 2 had last year – October 26th – the Friday before Halloween, a fitting date for the witch-centred story.
The 10-episode series stars Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka and “imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.”
Written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, showrunner on Riverdale, the series was originally meant to act as a spinoff to the teen drama, but the production team then decided against this, though they didn’t rule out a potential crossover in the future.
There hasn’t been any official photos of the cast or trailers released at the moment, but with the release mere months away, we should be seeing more of Sabrina soon.
