As more accusations surface about Kevin Spacey, the consequences continue to flow, as Ridley Scott has replaced the actor with Christopher Plummer in his latest film, All the Money In the World.
It’s a particularly shocking development, as the film is finished, and was preparing to premiere at the AFI Festival’s closing night. The story follows oilman J Paul Getty, when he refuses to pay the ransom for his kidnapped grandson, and featured Spacey in prosthetics to play the part of Getty.
Concerned that the scandal surrounding Spacey might doom the film, and endanger the jobs of everyone who worked on the film, Scott and producers Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas plan to shoot replacement scenes with Plummer and co-stars Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg. And while Spacey only filmed for a handful of days, his role is significant enough to need to be replaced.
The cast and crew have to move fast on this, as All the Money In the World currently has a US release date of December 22nd.
