Back in 2015, Chuck Palahniuk finally wrote a sequel to his cult hit, Fight Club, but did so in a 10-issue comic series with artist Cameron Stewart – and he isn’t done, as it has now been announced that Palahniuk is to pen a third instalment with Stewart.
Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Dark Horse Comics’ Fight Club 3 will see Tyler Durden face a new problem – a son.
When the third instalment begins, Marla is living with her first child and the series’ anonymous narrator – calling himself Balthazar, after being named Sebastian in Fight Club 2 – in a dingy motel. But, she’s pregnant again, and this time the baby’s father is Tyler Durden.
With the prospect of fatherhood lingering over his head, and the threat of a new group with a violent plan to “fine-tune” mankind, Tyler finds himself needing to team up with Balthazar.
Palahniuk said in a statement, “Fight Club 3 is about what happens when you need to team up with your enemy. And the situation is even more complicated here, given Tyler Durden and Balthazar’s unique relationship. And, yes, bodily fluids will be exchanged.”
Issue #1 (of 12) hits stores on January 30th, 2019.
