Universal has pulled Cowboy Ninja Viking from its June 2019 release date, as rumours of turbulence on set continue to swirl.
Sources have said that the production came to a halt this week, and the studio has now confirmed that the picture has been pulled from its fast track, sending it back into development. The film was slated to begin production in mid-September.
The story, following a new type of assassin, who manifests the skills of three different personas – a cowboy, ninja, and Viking – was set to star Chris Pratt and Priyanka Chopra, with Game of Thrones and Westworld director, Michelle MacLaren set to helm the project.
With a big budget behind it, Universal clearly wants to make sure that they get things right behind the scenes before they commit to putting Cowboy Ninja Viking into production.
