Who can be trusted?
Daniel Craig is back in the role of James Bond for a final time in the first trailer for No Time To Die, facing off against Rami Malek in the mysterious, villainous role of Safin.
Cary Joji Fukunaga directs the film, in which Craig’s 007 has left active service in favour of starting a life with Madeleine (Léa Seydoux), however when new secrets about her come to light, and Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) brings news to him of a new villain armed with dangerous new technology, Bond has no choice but to end his retirement.
The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Lashana Lynch’s rival 00-agent, Nomi, who is rumoured to be the new 007 after Bond’s retirement, and a pretty well-armed Aston Martin.
No Time To Die also sees Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Christoph Waltz reprise their roles – as well new additions Ana de Armas (Paloma) and Rami Malek (Safin) joining the cast.
Fukunaga also wrote the script with Neil Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was brought in to give particular polish to the film’s female characters.
Along with the trailer, a number of character posters have been released:
The film has faced a number of challenges during production, including a controlled explosion going awry at Pinewood Studios, which damaged a set and injured a crew member; as well as an earlier incident where Craig injured his ankle, requiring him to have surgery.
No Time To Die is set for release on April 2nd, 2020 in the UK, and April 8th, 2020 in the US.
