Ryan Reynolds made have accidentally given fans a sneak peek at Wade Wilson’s grey X-Force costume in Deadpool 2.

After the incredible success of the first film, Deadpool is set to have a large presence in the X-Men universe, with the sequel ready to hit cinemas next year, Reynold’s Merc with a Mouth is also set to co-star in X-Force alongside Josh Brolin’s Cable soon after, before finishing the self-titled trilogy with Deadpool 3.

With the character now fully established thanks to the breakout hit, the sequel is set to do more world building by further fleshing out characters like Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) and Weasel (T.J. Miller), whilst also introducing Domino (Zazie Beetz) and, of course, Cable. And if new set photos are anything to go by, Deadpool 2 may also tease X-Force.

In a wrap photo shared by Reynolds, the actor has been pictured with a crew member, and behind them is a rail full of Deadpool suits, and while most are the classic red, two of the suits appear to be different. This could be the first indication of Deadpool 2 introducing Wade Wilson’s grey X-Force suit. (It’s the sixth picture.)

While the suits could, perhaps, be dirty, dust-covered suits, the difference in colour may be an indication of a surprise reveal in the film. Brolin recently shared that X-Force could begin filming next year, and if that is true, Deadpool 2 might well set up the X-Force team in some way, so it would be a surprise if the alternate costume didn’t make an appearance.

Given the ratio of red suits to grey in the picture, if Reynolds will be wearing the suit, it is more likely that it will make an appearance in a post-credits scene that teases the new look in the upcoming film. Not only would this build hype for Goddard’s X-Force movie, but it would also continue the tradition of Deadpool’s post-credits scene setting up the next instalment.

Deadpool 2 is set for release on June 1st, 2018.
