It’s been over a decade since Deadwood came to a premature end, and it seems that fans of the HBO western will finally get some closure.
Since the 2006 finale, there has been talk of a possible film to round off the story, and in recent years, this chat has intensified with the news of creator David Milch working on a screenplay for a TV movie. And now, HBO is finally moving forward with the project.
Production on the Deadwood revival movie is set to start in the autumn of next year. It will be a two hour special, bringing back most of the show’s key players (one actor who won’t be returning is obviously Powers Boothe, who passed away earlier this year), with the goal of release in 2019.
There isn’t much to add at the moment, but we’ll bring you more news on the Deadwood movie as we get it.
