And teases the Lizzie McGuire revival
Disney+ has got some big plans for this year, and while the streaming service hasn’t officially launched in the UK, it has in the states, and 2020 will be the first year that Disney films will go straight to service after leaving cinemas. But that’s not all.
Following the highly praised Mandalorian series, Disney+ will be streaming several more new and exclusive series this year. And a new video teases everything to come:
The only new footage in the video is from the Lizzie McGuire revival, which sees leading lady Hilary Duff back in the role she left in 2004.
However, there’s another pleasant surprise in the teaser, and that’s the fact that Marvel’s original series WandaVision, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, will now premiere this year, rather than Spring 2021 when it was supposed to be released.
While there isn’t much known about the series, it’s possible from the bizarre concept art for WandaVision, that it will draw on the House of M comic book arc which sees Wanda use her powers to alter reality. It may also use the Vision mini-series from Tom King and Gabriel Walta as inspiration, as this arc sees the android build himself a nuclear family.
More on Disney+ and WandaVision when we have it.
