Robert Pattinson has become The Batman in a new camera test revealed by director Matt Reeves, which sees the actor suited up as the Dark Knight.
The moody, noir-style, red-saturated footage is bolstered by Michael Giacchino’s atmospheric score, all of which lines up perfectly with Reeves’ take on the Gotham City hero, which sees Pattinson as Bruce Wayne in more of a detective role. In the comics, Batman is often described as “the world’s greatest detective” and from the various descriptions of the film as it currently stands, it’s this side of the hero that Reeves is interested in exploring.
Hopefully, the director will be sharing videos like this for the rest of the key characters like Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), The Penguin (Colin Farrell), The Riddler (Paul Dano), Commissioner Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Gil Colson (Peter Sarsgaard) as it will be interesting to see how these other characters will be looking.
The Batman is set for release on June 25th, 2021.
