Release Date: 25th April
Genre: Survival horror

In a press statement released earlier today by Red Barrels, the official release date of Outlast 2 has been confirmed for the 28th of April, 2017, and will bring with it something fans have been begging for since the 2013 release of the first game – a physical copy available in UK retail stores!

As a bonus surprise for fans of the series across the world, the original two games will also receive a facelift, and be released as part of the Outlast Trinity game pack; for those who are unfamiliar with the series, that means that the package will also include Outlast, the original 2013 title, and Outlast Whistleblower, the DLC continuation of the first game.

So far, we know that the new Outlast game does not take place in the Mount Massive Asylum like it’s predecessors – now, the game follows Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife Lynn, as they navigate dark and foreboding mysteries to uncover the stories no one else dares to explore. Now, after the death of an unidentified pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe, the investigation leads them deep into the heart of the Arizona desert, where new and terrifying horrors may come to light.

If the previous games are anything to build from, this game will bring to the table a plethora of horrifying, tense and downright nasty moments for players to grit their teeth through. Whilst it’s uncertain what can be worse than naked, crazy or possessed asylum inmates chasing after you, it wouldn’t be the first time that Red Barrels managed to take the modern gaming experience and push the boundaries.

In addition to the physical release, Outlast 2 will be released across online gaming platforms worldwide on the 25th of April, so whether you collect hard copies or clog up your PSN with downloads, make sure to have your wallet at the ready this April!
