This year’s Gamescom is underway, and today Activision announced the official release date for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and the Collector’s Edition which will release alongside it.
Steve Young, chief revenue officer at Activision said of the release, “We can’t wait for fans to finally get their hands on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Fans will get a taste of the multiple tools available for the prosthetic shinobi arm this week at Gamescom, and will be able to fully dive into the brutal, dark world of 1500s Sengoku Japan when the game launches [this March].”
The Collector’s Edition includes the full game in a steelbook case, as well as an art book, physical map, digital soundtrack, replica game coins, and a 7-inch shinobi statue.
Sekiro is a third-person action-adventure RPG which incorporates many of the mechanics from the Soulsborne titles. However, the game does add a number of new features to the formula – most notable of which is ability to resurrect oneself after a hasty death, and therefore “die twice.”
Both editions of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be available on March 22nd, 2019 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. They are available for pre-order now.
