After scoring her big break as Luv in this month’s Blade Runner 2049, Sylvia Hoeks is keeping the ball rolling by landing a role in Fede Alvarez’s The Girl In The Spider’s Web.
This film is an adaptation of the lastest Lisbeth Salander novel – albeit not written by original author Stieg Larsson, instead being penned by David Lagercrantz with continuity to both Larsson’s writing style and his characters in mind – The Girl In The Spider’s Web sends the series’ odd-couple, hacker Salander and seasoned journalist Mikael Blomkvist on more misadventures. This time seeing the pair faced with a ruthless web of espionage, cybercriminals and high-level villainy (plus the usual serious threats).
The Crown’s Claire Foy is playing Salander, and Hoeks is still in talks, and therefore there’s no solid details on which character she will be taking on.
Alvarez is set to begin filming in Berlin and Stockholm this coming January.
