Soon, fans will be able to experience first-hand what it’s like when Tony Stark steps into the Iron Man suit, as Hasbro is set to launch an Augmented Reality Experience featuring the Marvel property.

It isn’t long until we see Stark suit up again alongside the rest of the Avengers (and every other MCU character, it seems) as they face-off against Thanos and the Black Order in Avengers: Infinity War. And while it’s fun to see Tony Stark in his suit on screen, fans can’t help but wonder what it would be like to pilot the suit themselves – but wonder no more – Hasbro have got you covered!

The first Augmented Reality game to come from the company, it seems fitting that Iron Man should be the first subject. Called Marvel Avengers: Infinity War Hero Vision Iron Man AR Experience (just rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?) the game allows fans to pilot the suit to fight Thanos, and will include an Iron Man mask, AR goggles, AR gauntlet, 3 AR markers, and 1 Infinity Stone, for $49.99 (which would make it around £40, though an official price hasn’t been released yet) with an accompanying app to download for free this Spring.

Ahead of their 2018 Toy Fair, starting Friday, Hasbro have teased what can be expected from the experience:

This movie-inspired mask features a new experience from Hasbro that combines iconic role play with Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Download the HERO VISION app, place a compatible device inside the AR goggles, place AR markers around the play area, put on the AR mask, and then get ready to see digital images from the Super Hero’s world in front of kids’ eyes. Includes AR mask, AR goggles, gauntlet, three AR markers, and one Infinity Stone. Available at most major retailers and on The HERO VISION app will be available Spring 2018 in the App Store and Google Play for select devices.”

Essentially, it is an Iron Man mask with an additional part for your phone to fit into, similar to other AR devices. As the app is opened, the screen provides you with a similar interface to that which Tony Stark sees underneath his mask, and once the AR tags are in place, Thanos enters the picture and the game begins. The included Infinity Stone can be mounted on the blaster glove, providing some bonus features to the game.

Iron Man is only the first Marvel character to be included in Hasbro’s Marvel Hero Vision line, so there will no doubt be announcements of other characters in the months. In terms of who is likely to be included, it’s safe to say they will probably stick to masked characters, such as Captain America, Black Panther, and possibly Ant-Man and the Wasp, ready for their film debut.
