Disney has once again stoked the fire of fan excitement for Incredibles 2, by revealing the cast of the film. Alongside the returning cast, there are a number of new characters set to appear in the story, and some famous voices to go along with them.

First up is Better Call Saul star, Bob Odenkirk, who will be playing Winston Deavor, who leads a telecommunications company with his sister, Evelyn Deavor, voiced by Catherine Keener. Winston is a superhero fan, eager to bring the heroes out of hiding and return them to the public eye by changing the public’s perception of the capeless crusaders. Evelyn, however, is a tech genius, who has never met a problem she can’t solve. Possibly the villains of the story?

Also of Better Call Saul fame, is newcomer Jonathan Banks, as Rick Dicker, a government leader who helps the Parr family to keep their identities secret as the head of the Super Relocation Program. However, when the division is closed, the Parr family are left to their own devices.

Sophia Bush is also joining the cast, playing Voyd, a young Elastigirl fan, with the power to create voids, allowing objects to appear and disappear. Also, Isabella Rossellini will voice Ambassador, an advocate of the legalisation of superheroes.

Returning to their original roles are castmembers Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible), and Holly Hunter (Elastigirl), Sarah Vowell (Violet), Huck Milner (Dashiell), and baby Jack-Jack. Samuel L. Jackson also returns as Frozone, while writer/director Brad Bird will reprise his role as the stylishly sassy Edna ‘E’ Mode.

Last year at D23, Bird explained that, “It’s fundamentally a story about family. The technology has gotten so much better; we can get them close to what we wanted to do in the [original]. It’s like driving a better car.”

The story of Incredibles 2 sees Elastigirl take centre stage, while Mr. Incredible stays at home with their children, including Jack-Jack, whose emerging powers still remain a mystery to the family.

The Incredibles 2 is set for release on June 15th.
