Says Harrison Ford – and he’d know.
A fifth Indiana Jones film has been up in the air for a while now, and while we knew Harrison Ford would return to his role as the iconic whip-cracking archaeologist, with Steven Spielberg once again behind the camera, no one had a clue when production on the film would actually start.
However, in a new interview with CBS, Ford revealed that a new Indiana Jones film will be hitting the big screen sooner rather than later.
In the interview, Ford says that he’s “going to start doing Indiana Jones in about two months” adding that he is “always delighted to come back to these characters.”
Not as delighted as the fans, I’m sure.
And the actor knows exactly who is responsible for the franchise’s longevity.
“If we have the opportunity to make another,” he said. “It’s because people have enjoyed them. I feel obliged to make sure that our efforts are as ambitious as they were when we started. You have a sense of responsibility to your customers […] the fact that these people support my business, and I’m responsible to them for the quality of the service that I offer.”
Whether you liked Kingdom of the Crystal Skull or not, we can all agree that its problems didn’t lie with Harrison Ford.
Indiana Jones 5 is currently set for release on July 9th, 2021.
