Kiersey Clemons, the actress who will portray Iris West in the upcoming Flashpoint movie has discussed her role in the movie, hinting that her Iris might come from a different time period.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Online, Clemons said that “because of going back and forth past and future with The Flash, you don’t even know what time period you actually meet Iris.”
According to the actress, they are still deciding how to develop the character, and handle the relationship between her and Barry Allen/The Flash in the movie. Discussing the status of the movie, Clemons explained, “We’re in the process of still replacing our director. We just got a new script.”
Former director Rick Famuyiwa exited the project last year, which Clemons was said to be ‘very upset’ by, given that his involvement was a major factor in her decision to do Flashpoint.
However, she has made it very clear that she wants to distance her portrayal of Iris from that of Candice Patton, who plays the part on The CW’s The Flash series, reiterating her previous comments on the point: “I haven’t tried to pull from her at all. I want my Iris West to be its own world.”
Clemons was set to make her debut as Iris West in the upcoming Justice League movie, however, it has recently been revealed that her scenes have actually been cut out.
