With a trailer to come later this week.
It’s been a while since we got any news about Jordan Peele’s Candyman reboot, but this week sees the release of a brand new poster, and promise of a trailer to follow this Thursday.
The updated instalment is said to be a sequel to the 1992 original film, also simply titled Candyman.
Produced and co-written by Jordan Peele, and directed by Top Boy’s Nia DaCosta, the film is led by Watchmen and Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, while Tony Todd is said to be returning to the titular role.
Check out the new poster:
Central to the poster is the iconic hook that the Candyman uses to dispatch of his victims, with honey dripping down the side and a single bee sat atop it.
As you can see the poster is as pared back as most of the teaser posters for horrors that Peele has been behind, as Get Out, Us and Antebellum have all shared similarly simplistic kinds of design.
The official Twitter account for the film shared a small teaser of what fans can expect from the new film, with a promise that a full trailer will arrive on Thursday this week. The project has been kept tightly underwraps, so it will be exciting to see what the trailer brings.
Candyman is set for release on June 12th in the UK, and June 18th in the US.
