That’s certainly an ominous title.
The third film in the Jurassic World franchise has begun filming, and director Colin Trevorrow shared the film’s first slate, which suggests that it will be titled Jurassic World: Dominion.
Co-written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael, the threequel’s plot is being kept under-wraps, however we do know from the short they released last year, Battle at Big Rock, that the story will take place after the events of Fallen Kingdom, with the dinosaurs now loose in the world, and causing a lot of trouble.
Or, having dominion, if you like.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be reprising their World roles in the new film, joined by faces from Jurassic World’s past including Daniella Pineda, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, BD Wong and Justice Smith. As well as this, the threequel has also added newcomers Dichen Lachman, DeWanda Wise, and Scott Haze in as-yet unknown roles.
Excitingly, the new film will also bring back Jurassic Park actors Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum in their original roles – though how much we will see of these actors is still unknown. After all, Jeff Goldblum’s appearance in Fallen Kingdom was hardly a noteworthy one.
Jurassic World: Dominion is currently set for release on June 11th, 2021 in the US, and June 21st, 2021 in the UK.
