A taste of what’s to come in 2021
Jurassic World fans are in for a long wait for the third instalment in the series (and honestly, after the lacklustre sequel is anyone desperate for the next one?) but director Colin Trevorrow has released a dino-filled short as a taste of what’s to come in June 2021.
The short film, Battle at Big Rock, takes place after the events of Fallen Kingdom and sees a family camping in the woods of Northern California – but in reality, Ireland. The parents and their three children sit down for dinner in their RV when a dinosaur battle appears just outside their window, eventually crashing into their home.
As you might expect, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) don’t show up in the footage, but André Holland and Natalie Martinez do a great job with their limited amount of screen time, making for an entertaining dip back into the Jurassic World franchise.
This short is as much as we have about Jurassic World 3 – which doesn’t even have an official title yet. However, Trevorrow has teased that the film will be more in line with the original Jurassic Park film than any of the other sequels, due to it not focusing on genetically modified dinosaurs. Let’s hope it can live up to that teaser.
Jurassic World 3 is currently slated for release on June 11th, 2021.
