But what will they be?
At SDCC this year, Marvel Studios announced a huge line-up of film releases for their upcoming Phase 4, between now and the end of 2021. But now Disney have also revealed a number of additional release dates for upcoming MCU films, courtesy of their latest release slate.
The new dates revealed are:
- 7th October, 2022
- 17th February, 2023
- 5th May, 2023
- 28th July, 2023
- 3rd November, 2023
That’s already shaping up to be a very busy 2023, and is probably the most Marvel films released in any one year before.
So far, the films that have been announced over the next two years are – in order – Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the third of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films, and Thor: Love and Thunder.
This suggests that the new release dates are likely the already-announced Black Panther 2, Blade, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, and Captain Marvel 2, with the fifth possibly being the reported third Ant-Man film. Obviously, there’s no way to know what order these films could be released in.
Much to Martin Scorsese’s chagrin, Marvel Studios aren’t showing signs of slowing down anytime soon, as between these scheduled films and all the lovely new content heading for Disney+, they’ll be plenty for fans to sink their teeth into.
