After weeks of waiting and wondering, it has finally been announced that the character who will bridge the gap between The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, is Morgan Jones, played by British actor Lennie James.
AMC announced a couple of days ago that this week’s Talking Dead would finally see the crossover character revealed, and while many imagined that this character was most likely to be Season 7 Lucille victim, Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) or one of the many Fear characters, so the reveal of Morgan took a lot of people by surprise.

In terms of the timeline between shows, Morgan may be the perfect character to appear on both shows. After finding Rick early on in the outbreak, Morgan then disappeared, not to be seen again until near the end of Season 3, in the episode entitled “Clear”. Since his return only bits and pieces of Morgan’s past came to light, so there’s plenty of time that could be explored on Fear.
However, just because James is joining Fear, doesn’t mean that his time of The Walking Dead is over. Showrunner Scott Gimple stated (following the announcement) that Morgan “has a lot of story left on The Walking Dead” and “Morgan’s arc on The Walking Dead season 8 positioned him for the story on Fear.”
Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead begins filming today, with Lennie James in attendance, ready for a mid-2018 release.
