The War for Cybertron begins.
Netflix has released the first trailer for Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy, a three-part anime series from Rooster Teeth, which previously brought us its unique animation style in gen:LOCK and RWBY.
The story explored in the six, 22-minute episodes of Chapter 1: Siege, begins in the final hours of the civil war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, which has torn apart Cybertron, the home planet of the Transformers.
Megatron (Jason Marnocha) is tempted into using Cybertron’s source of life and power – the Allspark – to reboot the battle-beaten Autobots in order to unify his people. Optimus Prime (Jake Foushee) leads the heroes to orchestrate a number of counterstrikes that could stop them from saving their planet by killing it.
Chapter 2 of Trilogy will be subtitled Earthrise, and as-yet the title of Chapter 3 has not been revealed, but more information will be announced at a later date.
The voice cast of War for Cybertron also includes Linsay Rousseau (Elita-1), Jow Zieja (Bumblebee), Frank Todaro (Starscream), Rafael Goldstein (Ratchet), Keith Silverstein (Jetfire), Todd Haberkorn (Shockwave, Red Alert), Edward Bosco (Ultra Magnus, Soundwave), Bill Rogers (Wheeljack), Sophia Isabella (Arcee), Brook Chalmers (Impactor), Shawn Hawkins (Mirage), Kaiser Johnson (Ironhide), Miles Luna (Teletraan I, Cliffjumper), and Mark Whitten (Sideswipe, Skywarp).
The series’ premiere date is also yet to be announced.
