The series, which received mixed reviews from critics, found firm fans in the young-adult demographic, and therefore has been given a second run, which will hopefully aim to reach a wider audience than the first season.
Disenchantment is set in the kingdom of Dreamland, and revolves around the misadventures of alcoholic princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson), her naïve elf companion Elfo (Nat Faxon) and her personal demon Luci (Eric Andre). John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Noel Fielding, Rich Fulcher, Lucy Montgomery and Jeny Batten, also lend their voices.
Groening said of the renewal, “We’re excited to continue this epic journey with Netflix. Stay tuned for more cranked-up suspense, infuriating plot twists, and beloved characters getting knocked off.”
