Newly released solo posters for the characters in Ant-Man and The Wasp give our first real look at Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne.
One of the biggest questions fans were left with in the wake of Ant-Man was, what happened to Janet van Dyne, mother to Hope (Evangeline Lilly) and wife of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas)? The original Wasp, Janet disappeared in the ‘80s after going subatomic and being lost to the Quantum Realm. Pfeiffer’s casting indicated that we would finally meet Janet, but she’s been held back from the almost all of the sequel’s marketing – until now.
Marvel has released a series of character posters for Ant-Man and The Wasp, which finally reveal what Pfeiffer’s Janet will look like. Not only this, we also get a good look at the film’s villain Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Hank’s former co-worker, Bill Foster a.k.a. Goliath (Laurence Fishburne):
This poster confirms the fact that Janet still has the original Wasp suit, but unsurprisingly, she has managed to find clothing in the Quantum Realm that hides the extent of the outfit (well played, Marvel). Whether she has made modifications to the suit in her years of imprisonment remains to be seen, but it’s great to see that in someway at least, Janet will be returning as the Wasp. However, without having seen Pfeiffer in any trailers so far, it will be interesting to see whether we get a peek at the character out of flashbacks.
Ant-Man and The Wasp is set for release on July 6th in the US, and August 3rd in the UK.
