Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther is set to start 2018 in a huge way for Marvel Studios, and newly released posters give the characters the spotlight they deserve, as well as giving a little insight into their motivations.
Showing off the two-time Oscar nominated Ruth E. Carter’s amazing costume work, the posters feature Chadwick Boseman’s leading character T’Challa, and those connected to him – Angela Bassett as his mother, Ramonda; Letitia Wright as his sister, Shuri; Forest Whitaker as his advisor, Zuri; Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira as Dora Milaje members Nakia and Okoye, respectively; Michael B. Jordan as antagonist Erik Killmonger; Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi; Winston Duke as M’Baku; and returning MCU actors, Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue, and Martin Freeman as government agent Everett K. Ross.
The film’s synopsis reads:
“Marvel Studios’ Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.”
