A new image has surfaced from Jon Avnet’s upcoming film Three Christs, showing stars Richard Gere and Peter Dinklage.

The story is an adaptation of Milton Rokeach’s The Three Christs of Ypsilanti, due to be screened at this week’s Toronto International Film Festival (September 12th). Rokeach’s 1964 book was a psychiatric case study, focusing on the paranoid schizophrenic delusions of three patients whose delusions cause them to believe that each of them is Jesus Christ.

The film stars Richard Gere as Dr. Alan Stone, who is treating the three patients Joseph (Peter Dinklage), Leon (Walton Goggins) and Clyde (Bradley Whitford) at Ypsilanti State Hospital in Michigan, and explores the comic, yet deeply moving goings-on of their treatment.

As yet, Three Christs has no official cinema release date.
