As time grows closer to the forthcoming Power Rangers movie so does the marketing campaign behind it. It’s not even due until March 2017 and we’ve already been subjected to a fair amount of images and details on the movie.
Whatever director Dean Israelite (cool name) has planned for this adaptation of the camp teenage superhero show is still mired in mystery. What is evident is just how mature and different it is from the source material so many kids and ‘kidults’ were raised on. Will it be welcomed with the same adoration and appreciation as before? Maybe the new merchandising range will change their minds.
New images show the Rangers all diddy and micro, standing on the shoulders of their gigantic mecha’s, better known as Zords. These jaegers often take the shape of mechanical animals, dinosaurs or vehicles and combine into a gestalt figure to enhance its overall strength to defeat an opponent that resembles a Kaiju or ‘monster’ so disturbing in appearance it would make Dr. Frankenstein shudder.

The Pink Ranger sits atop on her mechanical friend.
The Yellow Ranger stands, staring into the distance. What’s she looking at? We’re over here!
The Red Ranger looking cool. Oh yeah. I got me a shiny red robo-beast.
The Blue Ranger saunters like a super hero model.
The Black Ranger getting ready for battle…or posing for a fashion a catalogue. I can’t tell the difference.
