Ni No Kuni, which began as a videogame collaboration between Level-5 and animation legends Studio Ghibli, is set to hit the big screen with its own anime film adaptation.
Gematsu has today reported that Warner Bros. Japan and Level-5 have announced that a Ni No Kuni anime will be released later this Summer in Japan. Akihiro Hino, Level-5 CEO and the game’s creator is writing the screenplay, while Spirited Away animator Yoshiyuki Momose will direct, with OLM handling the animation.
The film will follow friends Kotona, Yuu and Haru as they travel between two parallel worlds – an official website for the film is live now, but it is important to note that it is in Japanese.
