Fans of Nickelodeon cartoons will soon have a racing game to rival Mario Kart, as Nickelodeon Kart Racers has been revealed.
Classic Nick cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants and Rugrats have emassed a huge following over the years and with it, have come a few decent attempts at video games, though many failed to live up to the fans’ hopes.
Hopefully, these past attempts will have been taken into account on Nickelodeon Kart Racers, as in a set-up very similar to Nintendo’s wildly successful Mario Kart, players will be able to take on the role of characters from such shows as Hey Arnold!, Spongebob, Rugrats, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as they race their way around 24 different tracks.
The game will include a variety of gameplay modes, including a local four-player multiplayer, so there will be lots for fans to enjoy – and although no official release date has been announced, the title will be released across all major consoles for this year’s holiday season.
GameMill Entertainment, the game’s developers, are no strangers to a cartoon team-up, as they have previously worked on Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers – though hopefully this game will be more successful with gamers and critics alike.
While the concept art makes the game seem like a whole lot of fun, fans might be understandably wary, as licensed games can often be hit and miss. Hopefully Nickelodeon Kart Racers will be the exception.
More when we have it.
