Tim Burton’s Superman Lives, was set to be the director’s attempt at doing what he did to Batman, only with the Man of Steel. The film had been cast, scripts had been written, and costumes has been designed – but before Burton to begin filming, Warner Bros. pulled the plug.

And so, we never got to see Tim Burton’s vision for Superman – which happened to be Superman super-fan, Nicolas Cage.

Two decades later, it seems that Cage is finally getting the chance to play his hero. In a way.

The actor will voice the Kryptonian hero in Teen Titans GO! to the Movies, alongside the voice talents of Halsey, who is playing Wonder Woman, and Lil Yachty, who’s providing Green Lantern’s voice.

The film’s producer, Sam Register, told USA Today:

“Every superhero in the DC Universe has an impact on the fans, so we felt a great responsibility to find a voice for each character that would not only suit the role, but the playful tone of the Titans, and we’re thrilled with our cameo cast.”

While it might just be a cameo, this casting will probably be one of the most surreal combinations ever. Let’s face it, when Nicolas Cage speaks, you know it’s Nicolas Cage – but this time it will be Super-Nicolas-Cage-Man.

Teen Titans GO! to the Movies is set for release on July 27th.
