Avengers 4, like its predecessor is shaping up to be something of an MCU get-together, which sees all of your favourite characters from the past (almost) decade reunite.

The latest addition to this ever-increasing cast is Ty Simpkins, who played Iron Man 3’s precocious whiz kid Harley Keener, whose casting was confirmed by an IMDb Tweet over the weekend:

You’ll remember Harley as the kid who finds Tony and his damaged suit hiding out in rural Tennessee, searching for the Mandarin. Their unlikely friendship was a real strength to the third Iron Man instalment, which was otherwise fairly unremarkable, as both assisted in each other’s character arcs.

And while we don’t know in what capacity Harley is returning to the MCU, it certainly doesn’t look great for Tony’s survival rate at the Infinity War sequel. It’s time for the movies to introduce some real stakes, and if Tony dies it would certainly pack a punch – plus, if there’s a funeral scene, it’s likely that Harley would be a part of it.

Of course, the addition of Harley’s character doesn’t necessarily cement any kind of death drama – it’s certainly more likely than him just being there for moral support.

Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas on May 4th, 2018. It’s sequel follows on May 3rd, 2019.
