Spanish actor Sergio Peris-Mencheta who is currently on screens in FX’s Snowfall, has been cast as the villain in Rambo 5: Last Blood.

The film centres, as always, around John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) who has been working on a ranch, and finds himself having to cross the US/Mexico border in order to help find the kidnapped daughter of one of his closest friends. Quickly, Rambo finds himself up against the full force of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels, and Peris-Mencheta will play the cartel’s leader, Hugo Martinez.

Adrian Grunberg is directing from a screenplay by Stallone and Matt Cirulnick.

Production on Rambo 5 recently got underway in Bulgaria, where Stallone shared some first-look images:
