John Rambo is returning to the big screen this September, in Rambo: Last Blood, starring Sylvester Stallone.

The film sees our hero facing a more personal mission, and the synopsis for this final instalment reads: “When the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo (Stallone) — who has been working on a ranch — crosses the U.S.-Mexico border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels. Sergio Peris-Mencheta plays the likely ill-fated bad guy, and Yvette Monreal also stars in the film directed by Adrian Grunberg from a screenplay by Stallone and Matthew Cirulnick.”

Stallone said in 2017 that he wouldn’t be a part of the next Rambo film, instead focusing his attention on the Creed sequel, but around 10 months later he confirmed his commitment to the project.

Rambo: Last Blood is scheduled for release on September 20th.
