Cast and crew of the upcoming monstrous sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters, graced the stage at SDCC to talk about the film that says “Long live the King” to the iconic monster.

Stars Mille Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, O’Shea Jackson, Thomas Middleditch and director Michael Dougherty made up the panel to talk about the film that boasts far more monsters than the titular dino-giant.

Dougherty revealed that, as the title says, Godzilla won’t be the only creature to make an appearance in the feature. The trailer reveals that the central plot sees the characters have to ponder the dilemma of releasing the monsters, or perishing. And with this decision comes a battle between the title character and other monsters such as Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah – and more!

“There might be a few more surprises,” said Dougherty. Perhaps we’ll be seeing a certain iconic ape taking on Godzilla?

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is set for release on May 31st, 2019.
