In a message from Count Olaf himself, Netflix has revealed that A Series of Unfortunate Events will return for a second season on March 30th.
As Neil Patrick Harris’ Count Olaf mocks the audience’s collective New Year hangover, we’re treated to some of the first footage to come from the upcoming season, which is adapted from Lemony Snicket’s fifth novel, The Austere Academy, through to his ninth, The Carnivorous Carnival.
Season 2 also sees the arrival as several new characters, including Jacques Snicket, played by Harris’ Dr. Horrible nemesis Nathan Fillion, as well as Veep’s Tony Hale as Jerome Squalor, Sara Rue as a librarian, Lucy Punch as Esme Squalor, and Roger Bart as Principle Nero.
The second season will consist of ten episodes, and is the penultimate season, as the third will likely be the last.
In the meantime, Season 1 of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is available on Netflix.
