We got our first glimpse of Venom only a few days ago, and the Spidey spinoff universe is only getting bigger.
Sony is focusing on another pair of heroes, Black Cat and Silver Sable, the cat burglar/mercenary duo who will unite in Silver & Black, the next in the spinoff series. Having already landed a director on the project, Sony have now brought a duo of in-demand female screenwriters to pen the latest script draft.
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet have been brought on board to rework the script that has already gone through writers such as, Thor: Ragnarok’s Chris Yost, Westworld’s Lisa Joy, and even director Gina Prince-Bythewood before now.
The pair have already made quite the name for themselves on the genre movie scene, as Beer has worked on upcoming young adult sci-fi thriller Chaos Walking, several Transformers films, and Tarantino’s upcoming Star Trek movie; while Robertson-Dworet’s credits include highly-anticipated films like Tomb Raider and Captain Marvel.
Obviously, the film’s plot is still in the works, but it will focus on Marvel’s Black Cat, an expert burglar with talents for martial arts and manipulation of probability, and Silver Sable, a mercenary with an organisation hunting war criminals. Much like Venom, this probably won’t have much to do with Spider-Man, but could see Tom Holland make a cameo, as the two have had dealings with the web-slinger in the past.
More on Silver & Black as we have it.
