After months of (mostly) patient waiting, Lucasfilm have finally given us a teaser for Ron Howard’s forthcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, a prequel that explores the life of a young Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich.

Four months before the film is released, it seems as though marketing for Solo has shot straight to lightspeed, as this teaser not only gives us a glimpse of the movie, but also announces that a full trailer is following very close behind. Not only this, but we’ve also seen the release of official character posters.

You wait for some Solo, and then it all comes at once.

Unsurprisingly, this teaser does an excellent job at giving almost nothing away about the film’s narrative, doing more to introduce the characters than actually exploring the story. However, given the PR nightmare that has swarmed around Solo, after directing duo Chris Miller and Phil Lord were replaced by Howard, it seems as though the studio has gone above and beyond with this sudden influx of promotional material in order to ease people’s concerns over the quality of the project.

We don’t get much from the fast-paced trailer, but what we do see is more than enough to pique the audience’s interest. In between the sprawling action shots we get a good look at the film’s principle cast, including Woody Harrelson’s mysterious Tobias Beckett, Emilia Clarke’s suitably spacey-named Qi’Ra, and Donald Glover oozing swagger as a young Lando Calrissian. Then, at the very end we get our first live-action look at Ehrenreich as the titular intergalactic smuggler – in which the hair is perfect.

We also get a blink-and-you-miss-it glimpse of Han‘s golden dice, which were featured in The Last Jedi:

Now, we can’t wait for the full trailer. For now, take a look at the character posters below:
