Sony’s latest firmware update for PlayStation 4, version 5.00, has started rolling out to Beta subscribers and now, the company have revealed the full details to the large update. In a post over on PlayStation Blog, Sony detailed some of the changes including a family management system, 1080p60 broadcasting with PS4 Pro, and various other enhancements.
The Family Management system will make it easier to set up PSN accounts for children and customise parental control settings. Multiple adults can now be a part of the same family with control over parental controls. Things like game ratings can be designated for each child separately.
There’s a new Custom Lists tab within friends, broadcast features updates for PSVR, communities and PS4 Pro as well as messages improvements. You can now disable pop up notifications while watching a film or TV show with new notification settings. The quick menu has been updated, adding a leave party option and a notifications tab. Virtual Surround Sound is now available for PSVR and the Tournaments Viewing Bracket has been improved.
