Sony are working hard to build up their Spidey spinoff roster, but it seems that their planned Silver Sable and Black Cat film is taking a very different turn.
It is being reported that Sony are currently looking at splitting the once joint film into two solo films.
Silver & Black was meant to be release in theatres in February 2019, but the studio has now pulled the project from its schedule. The film, from Gina Prince-Bythewood is reportedly back in development, but now there’s potential for the story to be very different than the original plan – though nothing is set in stone and apparently Bythewood will depart the project as director but remain on board as producer for both films.
The original film was set to revolve around the duo of mercenary Silver Sable and burglar Black Cat, however, Sony has decided that given the depth of each of these characters, the best route is to explore their backgrounds in a solo venture. It is likely that the first title will be Black Cat.
