During their Paris Games Week 2017 conference, Sony announced Spelunky 2, the sequel to the cult hit which came out back in 2012.
The game was announced alongside a brand new trailer which shows the child of the first game’s protagonist taking on the helm (and hat) of dungeon crawling adventurer and setting off into the darkness. He also has a pug companion which is awesome, obviously.
The game is due for release on PlayStation 4 with the creator Derek Yu also updating that it would also be coming to PC.
The update was delivered via a tweet from the developer (see below) which mentions that the game will be coming “first” to PS4 and Steam, suggesting more platforms to come.

It’s also worth noting that just like with other games announced today, Spelunky 2 will not be making its way to PlayStation Vita. Watch the launch trailer below.
