“I only know one truth. It’s time for the Jedi to end.”
It makes sense that on the tail of the yesterday’s long awaited Star Wars Celebration that included a panel for the upcoming Episode VII, that today would bring the release of a teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
And though the trailer doesn’t give much of the story away (what trailer does?) one thing seems abundantly clear. Much of the film will include Luke’s training of wannabe Jedi – before you protest that fact, having the force doesn’t technically make her a Jedi, she’s got to give Luke a piggyback and stuff first. However, given the footage of Rey and Luke in the Jedi temple, it’s interesting to hear the final words of the trailer, where he confesses that the only way he sees to continue is for the Jedi to end. Which begs the question, are there others left? Is the Last Jedi singular or plural?
Elsewhere, Finn is unconscious, Poe and BB-8 are running and rolling, and Kylo Ren is as angry as ever. The snippets we see of each of these characters, as well as the wider shots of shooting ships, suggest that this is likely to be an action-packed sequel that picks up where The Force Awakens left off.
