A multiplayer mode was announced for Stardew Valley last year which was subsequently pushed into 2018. Details have been sparse ever since until today when developer ConcernedApe tweeted out an image.
The image, which can be viewed in the embed tweet below, shows four players tending crops on a farm. Most interesting is the fact that two houses can be seen next to each other meaning that players can be neighbours on the same farm. The image also confirms that four players can play together, something which was announced previously. There is also a flamingo in the picture, which looks to be a new type of scarecrow.
4-player Stardew Valley LAN party at my house… it's really fun. It still needs some work, but the underlying network code is solid. Being in the same room and yelling at each other about what to do next, or if anyone has any stone, is great fun. Can't wait to share this pic.twitter.com/Sjxyd712BK

As well as this tease, ConcernedApe also tweeted that all of the planned additional content had been finished, meaning that they are completely shifting focus into the multiplayer mode.
